The story of the On brand all started in the Swiss Alps. Retired athlete Olivier Bernhard wanted to create a running shoe with a completely new feeling. He started experimenting with pieces of garden hose and glued them to the outsole of his prototype. Caspar Coppetti and David Allemann, Olivier Bernhard's partners, came on board in 2010. On's goal was to create the highest quality shoe ever, with cushioned landings and powerful starts. The shoes are fully developed in Switzerland, using the most advanced technology possible. In March 2010, On's redesigned prototypes won the ISPO BrandNew Award. Today, On's shoes are worn by over 7 million athletes in more than 50 countries.
